Port Canaveral, Fl / Sea Day

We got up Sunday morning and had a nice free breakfast at the hotel. We had decided to book a shuttle rather than taking the hotel shuttle. It was a good decision as there were lots of people waiting to get down to the Pier.

We got to the Pier nice and early, cleared customs and retrieved our Sea Pass cards. Then we had to wait in a line as we were there before embarkation started. It really wasn't that long of a wait before we were allowed to go aboard. Our First stop was bolero's bar. I cannot remember what I ordered but it was yummy!!

After that we toured around the ship for a bit seeing where everything is. We had some time to kill before we could get into our Stateroom so we went to the Windjammer for lunch. The food was okay there. It was a lot of the same stuff though everyday. I supposed that is just the way it is with buffet food.

Our luggage arrived after a bit, well most of it. There were several bags that had smuggled booze in them and we were rather worried about being sent to 'The Naughty Room'. Turns out all the booze arrived but yet one bag was still missing. Patricia had packed a banned item, an iron, and we ended up in the 'Naughty Room' after all. It wasn't that big of a deal. They tagged the iron and kept it until the end of the cruise.

Buy now we had started to move and we headed up on deck to watch sailaway. There was music and dancing and drinks and WIND.. holy moley a lot of WIND.

We went back to our Staterooms after some more exploring and Paul started pouring drinks. We hung out on our balcony (opened the sliding door between the two balconies) and waited for our slated dinner time. We opted for the My Time dining which was great. All we needed to do was call down and let them know what time we would be coming to eat. If that time slot was full we would get a different one.

It was about this time that I started noticing HOW bad this boat was a rocking! I was getting queasier and queasier as we got closer to going down to the dining room. Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE food and would hate to miss it. I missed it. I was feeling so rotton I took some medication that Patricia had and went to bed. The rest of them went to dinner, the Cigar Bar and who knows where else. Todd certainly doesn't remember!

Monday, November 15, 2010Sea Day

Patricia is a life saver! She gave me her behind the ear dot thing for sea sickness and I was back on my feet and ready to enjoy the cruise. The weather however was making that a little difficult. We went to the Windjammer for breakfast and then toured around the ship some more. There was lots of little things to do but Todd didn't want to. I went to the Sexy Legs competition with Patricia at some point during the day and to Trivia at the Schooner Bar. I think that is about the time that we met Paul. He was our awesome Bartender from Jamaica. We tipped generously the first round and then the next round there would be one free drink or a free water. This went on throughout the duration of the cruise. This was our favorite bar by far!

That night was my first night seeing the dining room and it was awesome. The food, the wait staff.. everything was awesome. After we ate we were strolling along the promenade and heard some music coming from the English Pub. We went in and had a drink or 3 and had a great time singing along with the guitar player dude and all the other drunks. Todd went out to find the washroom and came back and suggested we try another bar that he 'heard' on his way to the washroom.

Turns out it was the Schooner Bar again and it was the Piano man. He was AMAZING.. we spent a lot of time there singing and drinking! I am pretty sure we closed the bar that night.

Freedom of the Seas 2010

This is a LONG overdue posting that I am going to use as journaling for my Cruise Scrapbook.

One VERY cold and dismal day in February 2010 I told Todd that I wanted to go to Jamaica! We thought about that for a bit and ended up deciding to go on a cruise. After a lot of online research we selected The Freedom of the Seas and a Western Caribean itinerary. We asked some friends to join us on the trip as we figured it would be a lot more fun with more people. Paul and Patricia thought it would be a hoot so they came along with us. I know Deneen is still kicking herself for not coming.

Our itnerary was:

Saturday, November 13 - Brampton/Buffalo/Orlando
Paul and Patricia came and picked us up and we drove to Buffalo to catch our flight on Southest Airlines to Orlando, FL. It was a nice easy drive, although early, and we had no problems getting to the airport in plenty of time so we had breakfast at the Anchor bar. Paul was smart enough to order wings and beer for breakfast. Todd is still bitter that he didn't get the wings.

We flew into Orlando and then rented a car (which I didn't get a photo of.. odd) and drove to our hotel for the night, The Residence Inn at Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach.

Todd drove Patricia and I to the Mall as I was still short one bathing suit and then the guys went back to the hotel to ditch the car and went to Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar. After finishing our shopping Patricia and I grabbed a cab back to Port Canaveral to meet the guys. We had the most insane cab ride! He called himself The Boom Cab. He had REALLY loud music, flashing lights and up until the week before a fog machine. However he had that confiscated by the Police. NICE.

We got to the bar in plenty of time to have lots of drinks and appy's but we did miss watching the Saturday Ships sail out.

I am not sure whose idea it was, but we ended up walking back to the hotel, crossing a major highway and only getting lost once! Then it was sleepytime!

Last week I went to Scrapfest. Had GREAT time and bought a keychain with a stamped image on it. I have to say I have been a little obsessed since then and feel a need to learn to colour in an image like this.

I went to Walmart and bought 36 Bic Mark-It markers.. LOVE THEM!

Yesterday I went to Scrapbook Queens for a Queen's Crop and was introduced to COPIC Markers and The Spica Pen.

At 7.99 each these markers are VERY expensive so I only bought two as the BIC ones didn't contain a good caucasian skin tone.

Here is my FIRST card... :) When I was on Kraftin' Kimmie's blog there was a BINGO card challenge so I made my card and used Flowers, Ribbon and a brad!

I think I might be hooked!!

Curtis also took some VERY good shots, I mean he is only 8 years old! - For editing, I asked his advice on how he wanted the first few done and then the last ones, he grabbed the mouse and did his own thing! I am so proud of him!

Such a GREAT WEEKEND!

It was a wonderful day! Todd is away this weekend for the annual Drinking tournament... er Hockey tournament. So the kids and I were on our own.

Started out with Curtis and I heading to Blockbuster to get a game and then to Chapters so he could get a new book with my GC that I won on Facebook! Yeah... He LOVES his book. (edited to add.. he has now finished the book, and claims it is one of the best he has ever read) My friend Stacy recommended it and she was right it is a great read. The book is called Danny in a new fangled world. After Chapters we booted it down to Dixie and Dundas to the Henry's Outlet store where I bought a new CAMERA!! Oh I am in LOVE with it too. I got the Canon XSi which is 12 mp and a 3 inch screen of awesomeness! I also got an extra battery, 18-55 Sigma lens, filter for said lens, SD Card and a 3 year warranty for $474.00!! You bet I am a happy camper!

Saturday morning we had to get up and go to a special hockey Practice that was put on by the Brampton Fire Department. It was SOOO COOL! The drills they did on the ice were ones that used the fire hoses and pylons in the shape of fire hydrants.

After the practice the kids got lunch up at Don Cherry's and a fire saftey talk. After that they headed outside for a tour of the firetruck. Pretty cool of the fire department to do this. The Firemen seemed to be having a great time as well. More pic...

The rest of the day I had planned on scrapping and organizing some photos but that didn't happen. I eneded up taking a 'photo walk' with the kids. Cambria used the Sony camera and I let Curtis use the XT. We had SUCH a great time! I think this post is long enough though.. .I will do a new post with photo walk shots!

This Week

So this week was pretty good... seemed long though as I have (had) a cold. I think it is pretty much gone now. The new accounting clerk/receptionist is working out REALLY well and is taking a lot of work from me so I am not soooo overwhelmed all the time.

This week the Fairies and I (Deneen, Crystal and Tracey) got to go to the taping of the season finale of The Mercer Report http://www.rickmercer.com/. It was pretty cool I have to say. I have never been to a taping of anything before. The audience is a LOT smaller than I had expected, and for that matter so was Rick Mercer. Haha.. he is very short and has a very big head! He is a funny man though and we had a great time.

I am looking forward to going back to the CBC building sometime as they have a musem there that looks pretty cool. See the Tree house? Recognize it?? YUP.. it is Casey and Finnegan's from Mr. Dressup!

All in all.. a pretty good week... BTW the next entry will be. HOT! :)

Pokey Tool - Use #1

I have often said that I should compile a list.

This will be post #1 of uses for the pokey tool.

I needed to remove paper from the pack and it wasn't perforated.. grrr.

So I grab my pokey tool.. (this one is a poker and spreader) and use it to remove the paper.. of course there are photos.. haha

Welcome to Tuesday!

Curtis is not feeling well and neither is Nanny.. Todd must have shared his cold with everyone. I am not getting sick.. NOPE. Been there done that this year already.

Something wonderful has happened at work. We finally hired a receptionist to replace me. Yes I did leave that position at the beginning of December and she just started yesterday. We have had a temp up until now and she didn't have the qualifications to do some of the work. Because she wasn't qualified I have been doing many tasks that the receptionist should do and now she is doing them! Oh this is going to give me so much more time for other projects like.. *gasp* SEARS...

This week has been amazing weather wise so far. I am officially done with winter, yes I love snow! However, the time has come to move on and bring on Spring!.. So because of the weather I have been getting off of my lazy ass and out walking.. yesterday I walked 6.5 km and today 3.25.

I think I need to start adding some photos to these posts but really this is just a babble.. blah blah blah.. :)

Cruise Album

I started working on the scrapbook for our Cruise that we went on in November 2010. It started out being an 8X8 album.. nice, small and quick right? Then I started thinking about all of the extra stuff that I have to put in.

Yea, I could have scanned and printed them.. but I wanted the actual paper work in the album.. so then I need to decide if I want a 12 x 12 album and I really didn't... soooooo I am doing my very first 8 1/2 x 11 album!

It is really going to move me out of my comfort zone becuase everything is usually square.. should be a lot of fun to do.

Here is the page I finished tonight.. yes it took about 5 hours.. haha.. it shouldn't even have taken an hour it is so simple. Damned internet.. haha

Sweet the weekend is here!

I am getting my hair done this morning with help of a WagJag deal. I bought one to my normal hair salon... yeah it is next to RNT but it still a really great salon! haha. It cost me 29.00 to get a cut and colour.. yup great deal.

After that I have to collect Curtis at hockey practice as Todd is off to a Leaf game... He calls it the Buffalo game as he doesn't like the leafs so much.

So tonight I am planning on starting my Cruise album. I am thinking 8x8 with a lot of journalling as I have gotten away from that latley. I was looking at my old albums last week and loved going back and reading what I wrote.. soooo.. it is back to journalling for me.

Tommorrow morning I hope to get out for a walk as I haven't been in *gasp* two weeks! I hope the weather cooperates as I am made from sugar and will melt in the rain!

After Curtis' hockey game tomorrow Todd and I are going on a date! We are going to see Battle: Los Angeles. It looks like a pretty intense movie and I am really looking forward to a date.. it has been a while since we went out.

I will be back after with a photo of the new do!

Edited to add this horrid shot of my hair BEFORE getting it cut and coloured. I have to wait for the morning to get someone to get a good shot of my hair.

Movie Night

Curtis got some movie passes for Christmas and we finally got to use one of them tonight. Well actually, we tried taking him to see Harry Potter about a month ago but he freaked himself out and didn't want to stay.

Tonights movie choice was a little more his speed. We saw Gnomeo and Juliet. It was a very cute movie. There were lots and lots of Shakespeare references in the movie. I am sure I didn't get them all.

Wow it has been a while since I posted anything here.

I have been getting back into scrapbooking lately and have been loving it!

My new favorite place is to 'blame' www.scrapbookqueens.ca . It is an awesome scrapbook store and I have been going to thier Queen Crops and some Friday night crops.

Once I get some of my new layouts scanned I will post them here .

I hope to use the blog as a journalling tool. Some of the albums I have seen lately people have taken blog posts and printed them off and put them into thier album.. COOL!

I have made the decision not to walk this year due to a problem with my hip. I will however still be participating in the walk by being a crew member.

I won't be activly fundraising anymore for this year as I am already over the minimum for crew.

Applying Decals

So you have received your Decal from Digital Fairy Designs and it is now time to install it.

1. Clean and dry the surface completely before installation.
2. Very carefully remove the sticky tape from the backing. (some will have some green painters tape holding the tape and the backing together. Remove this from the backing)
3. As you are removing the sticky tape from the backing, make sure that the decal is staying on the STICKY tape.
4. Once the decal is all on the sticky tape, place on surface and use a credit card to smooth out from centre to edges.
5. Remove sticky tape slowly, making sure decal is attached to surface... If not, use credit card to smooth more.

Here is a you tube video that I found that describes it pretty well. I would peel the sticky tape off slower than he did though.

Some Examples of Decals

Some of you might be interested in these car decals... :)

The first two are $10.00 and can be done for any company.

Pampered Chef, Avon, Mary Kay, Airbornne(sp), Melluca.... Any of those.

The others are smaller and are $5.00 each and of course are fully customizable.

They are cut in ONE colour and you have your choice of White, Pink, and maybe black.. I can't remember what I have upstairs.

I enjoy designing and I need to raise $2000 for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer so I am putting them together and fundraising creatively!

HOW MUCH you say? I have been doing some research and it seems the going rate for a blog header is $25.00. However, I will not tell you how much to pay, whatever you think is a fair donation will be fine with me.

I also do custom decals for cars, laptops, cell phones, hockey/baseball helmets..anything really. The decals will be priced according to size as I do have to pay for consumables.

What a fabulous idea this was... there were 14 of us gathered into a living room/dining room , there was food, pop, water, desserts.. and cropping with friends.. honestly it was all the necessities of life right there in that room! I am thinking this needs to become a monthly event!

I did a few layouts while there.. but not nearly as many as I should have for being there MORE than 12 hours! haha

Well that is what it was for me. It was very different taking only one bag to a crop... although I took all my paper stuff for Cambria so it really didn't count this time.

I printed off some of my digi layouts and I am very impressed by how 'real' they look and will be continuing in the digital world for the time being.

So.. onto the pages from the weekend!

First up we have two "Cheater" layouts as they are done with something called a Plopper - You can go here to download this one .

This is my third week of training for the Weekend to End Breast Cancer and I have now surpassed the 25 Km mark!

I have been walking every day at lunch for 30 mins (except one rain day) and I feel GREAT!

I think I am going to 'step up' (haha) my walking and add in another 30 mins to an hour a day to really get my body used to moving.

I am going to be updating my blog and making a Facebook group where you can follow my progress.

For those who have already donated... THANK YOU so much for those who have not I am still WAY under goal and would totally appreciate ANY amount of donation.

Has started! Yup that's right I have started walking at lunch time. I mapped the route and yesterday walked 1.83KM at lunch at today was 2.89 I think. So not bad. I took Curtis for a walk around Professor's Lake tonight and that was almost 3Km so a little more than 7KM's in the past two days.. Doesn't sound like much but it is 7 KM's more than last week.

I took some great photos of the walk at the lake and will post them later.. :)

More Bad Eating & Meeting Donna Downey

I know that isn't a great photo and I will of course be uploading all of the completed pages here and on my Facebook. trouble is I only finished 3 double pages and cover page..

Yes I know my problem now.. Food tastes too damned good! We will just not speak of my day today and my nice healthy salad last night either for that matter.

So... moving forward.. (loving that expression by the way)

I got to take a class from Donna Downey today. It was a year in the life of... class... but I of course had to be different and chose to do my Dominican photos. It was a fabulous class.. (Suzanne.. this was right up your ally.. you should see all the photos per page)

On to Donna herself.. She is just as awesome as I thought she would be. She is very well spoken, funny and a great person to hang with. Let's just say she would fit right in at Scrapalicious.. :)

Tomorrow is another day and I will be hiking and Car Rallying(is that a word) so I will get my body moving.

Weekends SUCK!

Why do I think that I can reward myself with food on the weekend? I hate that but I keep doing it.. It makes no sense to me.

Lets see how bad it was... Friday night I went cropping at Scrapalicious and ate too many of the little yummy morsels of goodness. i am not sure what they were but they were sweet, buttery and nutty and I ate I think three of them. Thankfully they were very small only about 1.5 inch squares. Oh and I had a cookie on the way there. oh and edited to add a taquito that the food fairys left out when I got home.

Off to Saturday... breakfast was cereal and coffee then a slice of zucchini bread with butter. I had a Lean Cuisine for lunch and then went shopping. I grabbed a coffee on the way but didn't get a cookie that time... that is good. After shopping I was off to the pub. I had four Mikes Lite's (these were really good.. only 100 calories a bottle.. not bad if you are wanting a drink)

So then the munchies come out and I had two deep fried pickles, two jalapano poppers a couple of fries and a jack bundle. Not TOO bad actually. After we left the bar we went to freinds and had pitas with spinach dip and ketchup chips. I actually didn't have any supper that night.. oh and a brownie when I got home.

So now we have Sunday and how did it go.. coffee for breakfast, that was it.. feeling guilty about all the other food.. lunch was a tuna sandwhich with a bite or two of brownies (damned things) then a granola bar... then off for a two hour hike (WOOHOO). After we left there we stopped at the Apple Factory and were starving so I ate a cheese croissant and a cookie. Then home for bbq chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes with butter, some veggies in a creamy sauce (MIL made them) and of course pie and ice cream for dessert.. it was a small slice so that is good right?

No water to speak of all weekend... uggg.. why do I do this? Now I am thinking that I may as well have another little slice of pie and move forward.. I know I KNOW is should just go to bed but I am hungry right now.

Tomorrow is another day and it is a Yoga day so I get some exercise which is good.

I am off for the night.. Thanks for listening/reading all my babble.

Weigh in day

So Yesterday was my actual weigh in day, but I think the popcorn from the night before screwed my results as i knew I had done better than the .3 loss it was showing me so I tried again this morning and had a loss of 1.1 pound from last week.

So I am going to keep the 1.1 Loss as my loss this week... why not right?

I started a new group for scrapping weight loss (SYWL). I was going to start a new blog to detail it, but why not just blog it here with the rest of my shtuff. The first challenge is to create a page about how you look now and why you don't want to look like that anymore.

I did this one back in September and am using it for my first page in my Weight loss Journal.

I am doing Weight Watchers on my own and using the SYWL group as well as an WW Yahoo group as my support system. My first week I was down 2.8 pounds! I was so thrilled with that. I am pretty sure I am going to have a loss this week but am guessing it will be closer to 1 pound than almost 3.

The book is 8x8. The book is made from all designer papers and is from a smoke-free home. Most of the pages have sewing on them. Some of the page didn't scan very well because they are bordered in white.

Welcome to“Scrapbooking Swede Design Team Survivor”

To enter and participate in Scrapbooking Swede “DT Survivor” contest, you must upload one or two of your best 12 x 12 layouts and/or altered items into the “DT Survivor” section of the gallery, no later than midnight PST on August 10th. Your layouts and/or altered items must show your creativeness and style. They must be 12 x 12. Everyone who enters their layouts and/or altered items in the gallery by midnight PST on August 10th will automatically become one of the contestants. After you upload your 12 x 12 layouts and/or altered items, you must send an e-mail to angelique@scrapbookingswede.com listing your name, user name, layout and/or altered item titles. This information will be posted in a special section of the message board so everyone will get to know each other better and so we will also know who the participants are. On August 12th we will announce the first “DT Survivor” challenge. You will have one week to complete the challenge and upload it to the “DT Survivor” section of the gallery by midnight PST.Every week thereafter on Sunday ~ only the contestants, will be given the opportunity to vote someone out, in a protected forum that only they will have access to. The winner of the “DT Survivor” contest, as chosen by the jury, will be part of our new Design Team and will also receive a $50 gift certificate from Scrapbooking Swede.

Second place will receive a $35 gift certificate and a spot on the Design Team and
Third place will receive a $25 gift certificate and be part of the Design Team.

This is when we first got to Whistler. It was about a two

hour drive from Vancouver because of construction, rain and snow.

This is at the top of the Whistler Gondola. It was very cloudy/foggy that day so you can't see the peak very well.

Back from Vacation

Yup I am back.. it was an interesting trip. Vancouver was warm.. and there were flowers and trees in bloom.. how odd for Feb/March.

Then it was off to Whistler and it was great! But I hurt my knee and couldn't ski. I don't really find skiing fun but I have been really trying to find the fun in in. I have taken lessons and stuff but seriously coming down a mountain like Whistler is pretty terrifying.. I fell after about 2 minutes on the hill.. We went to the top of the Gondola (likely a mistake) and the powder was deep and I wasn't used to it at all and fell a few times.. Once was a big wipe out and I had people on the chair lift above me asking if I needed ski patrol...

I got up and continued down a bit.. Bawled my eyes out went a bit more.. Cried went a bit more.. As you can see NOT FUN.. So I got down to a lift that would take me back to the gondola and took that down. Todd was incredibly patient and stayed with me the whole time and was very encouraging and not pushy.. So that was my skiing experience

The rest of the trip for me consisted of shopping, doing laundry, hot tubbing, drinking, and getting a massage.. so you don't really have to ski or board to have fun in Whistler!

Sassivivor LO - Advice... please!!

Sassivivor! Week 1

I am thrilled I made it through week one without getting voted off. Week 1's Challange was to create a layout from the sketch, use the colour blue in some way and use a quote from Maya Angelou. My layout is shown here.

Well it has been a few days since I posted anything here. I am at work now and have some time to write so I will. I actually like my job and am very lucky that my hubby gave me the push to get a job. It is nice to get out and talk to.. well.. I guess they are adults.. haha. I work at a Chrysler Dealership as a part time receptionist. I think they should make some sort of reality show out of this place.. haha.. call it The Dealership.. I have new stories every night after working.. it really is an entertaining place to work.

My mom is visiting from Halifax this weekend.. I think I can write that now as the surprise should be over.. haha.. if not.. Hey Aunt Elaine.. surprise! haha.. It is my Aunt's bday and my Mom and my other Aunt are here to surprise her. Then tonight we have an engagement party to go to and tomorrow we are heading up to Newmarket to visit my Grandma.. so it is a busy weekend for me.

What else is new... hmm I am not sure.. Curtis got his hair cut this week. I should post some photos as it is so cute... he looks like a a boy again. Cambria hasn't been feeling well.. she brought home a notice last week about strep throat and scarlet fever in school.. the next day she had bright red cheeks and a rash on her face which is symptomatic of scarlet fever. I took her to the doc and he said it looked like it but she was missing one component.. the fever part... he put her on antibiotics anyway and now a week later she is feeling like crap again.

Hopefully she is feeling better tomorrow so she can go visit Grandma with us.

I am quite thrilled with how this turned out.. It might be my favorite ever!

Yes.. Merry Christmas.. you read that correctly! It is Christmas at my house today.. the Purolator man came and brought my delayed Christmas present/stop smoking incentive (5 weeks now btw)

So, I am typing on my brand new Dell Inspirion 6000 Laptop.. WOOHOO.. I have wanted one for so long it just seems sort of unreal that I actually have one.

I am having a ball surfing tonight I haven't even had my nightly popcorn.. haha..

I noticed today that I don't have a lot in here about Cambria.... I guess because Curtis is with me all day and is infront of my camera more.

So this is all about Miss Cambria who is GROUNDED!! The Crime.. not preparing for a test and subsequently failing it. I explained to her that she is not being grounded for failing the test but more for not studying, not telling us about the test and just not being prepared. She said she studied right before the test.. well that didn't work so well. She got 9.5 out of 20 and it was on Provincial Government.. I didn't know some of the answers myself.. haha

So, she is grounded for a week from all her electronic shtuff.

TODAY she got to go Snowboarding with school and from everything she told me it was a great time even though she fell A LOT!

I am hoping to get out to the hill next time and get some photos so I can add them here.

TOPS update

BLECH.. is all I can say.. I am up 2.4 pounds from last week so I am at 150.4.. NOT GOOD..

I made a few goals yesterday at the meeting and am pretty proud of myself today as I have met two and am working on #3

1. Exercize - I copied a bunch of Yoga shows that were on this morning and did one.. woohoo (see post on Yoga and Curtis to come later)

2. Fruit - I am HORRIBLE when it comes to fruit.. I may have eaten 2 peices of fruit in th past two months.. eek.. so my goal was to eat 3 fruits in a week.. today I had 1 cup of Orange Juice.. apparently it counts.. WOOOHOO

3. Food Journal - I have breakfast and Lunch completed.. supper is a Lean Cuisine seeing it is a work night so that should be easy..

Crappy Winter

Yeah I am sure some people would think it is a great winter because of how little snow we have gotten.. but I was hoping to get the kids out sledding and playing a bit more (as I write this it is snowing like an SOB right now)

We had a couple of centimetres snow on Friday night so Sat when we got up it was pretty and white, but it warmed up quickly and it went away. I am attaching some pictures of the snowman that the kids and Todd built.. I suppose I could just say that the kids built as Todd is the biggest kid in the bunch.. haha

Rice Krispy Truck

This is the truck that Curtis made today at preschool.. and NO I am not a meany for making him take it home first so I could get a photo.. haha.. I let him eat the outside of the cutter peices and we dipped it in icing and put candies on it.. haha.

Today was a good one at preschool. The story that Mrs. P read was one of Curtis's favorites. Speedy Little Race Cars. He can actually 'read' the whole book! So as Mrs. P was reading I could see his lips moving or saying it right out loud. I bet that is the story that he will be requesting tonight at bedtime.

Book Title.. anyone??

So I have been trying to figure out a book title for over a month and I am not getting it and it is driving me nuts! I read this book in grade 7 or 8. It was about a Native Indian boy who was becoming a man. In order to do this he had to go into the woods by himself and survive for so long or fast.. I can't remember. Then at the end (if he lives) there is a big feast and he is a man now.

The book title is the name of the boy I think it starts with A and is about 6-7 letters long.. if ANYONE can help me.. please please do..

It was pretty freaky! And scary as well. I was driving down the 403 towards a scrapbook store this morning when I found myself behind a slow tractor trailer (he was doing 100 but I normal travel at about 120). I was in the right lane when I normally travel in the middle so these were two odd things. I even thought to myself while driving that I should get over but then thought nah.. I am happy in this lane.. What was that about? I am NEVER happy in the slower lane.. haha.. about 5 mins after this I am driving along (at 100 still) be-bopping to the music on the stero when I see a steel door fly off of the truck that would have been in front of me had I changed lanes! It more than likely would have hit my car if not come through the front window of my car.. cars behind me were swerving left and right.. holy crap it was scary... more scary when it hit me that 99.9% of the time I drive in that lane but made a choice to drive in the slow lane.. so whoever the Angel was that was driving with me today.. Thank you!

Brad and Matthew

So, after posting the photos below of my nephew Brad I have received a lot of comments about him. Although not all were brave enough to post them as a comment.. haha. One comment I got more than once though was that Brad looks like Matthew McConaughey. So I felt the need to do a comparisson picture.. So what do you think?

Preschool - Thursday

I took the camera to school today to get some pictures of what goes on there. I didn' want to fill this up with picture after picture so I combined some together with descriptions.. hmm kind of like a layout.. haha

Here is the first one.. Oh I also blurred the faces of the other children in the photos. I think you can click on it to make it a bit larger.

This one deserved it's own shot as it is the cars Curtis was working on with Playdoh (side note - I made some play doh last week for the kids to play with and I was actually super mom for a day!)

He has been enjoying, and Cambria too for that matter, the play doh that I made for them. It was pretty easy to make except for the constant stirring that is required.. it was quite the work out for sure!

The next set of pictures is Curtis making his train. I love this train and think it is his greatest work. Normally I try to influence his crafting and tell him where to put things.. yes bad mommy, but today I decided to just let him go to it and this is what he came up with. He pointed out to me all the things that I have detailed below.
